Life Lessons

Recently the kids of OBV-Cambodia got a chance to catch up with an old friend, Ms. Tam, who previously had participated in our Mission Trip 2017. This year, she decided to come back and spend 2 weeks playing and teaching English to the girls. Since she was limited on time, she could only visit OBV Cambodia this trip, but hopes that she will be able to visit OBV Viet Nam next year.

Besides her English lessons, Ms. Tam also taught the kids about life. She gave each of them a small notebook. During the week, any good deed that was done by the kids was documented in their own notes. When the weekend came, whoever had the most good deeds received a small prize.

The good deeds were anything such as translating for her at the shops, speaking English/Vietnamese with Ms. Tam, or helping each other around the house. This activity helped the kids learn how to improve themselves with the smallest and simplest of acts.

During evening prayer times, Ms. Tam shared some memories of her childhood, about the lessons that she had learned from her father on how to be successful in life. She wanted the kids to understand and appreciate all the things that they had been given and taught at OBV, hoping that they too will be successful in their paths.

Thank you Ms. Tam for your love and meaningful lessons!
