With a background in both Social Psychology and pediatrics, his explanations were a good mix of biology and psychology, delivered in a very logical and easy to understand language. It was fitting for their age group and opened their minds. In fact, with his explanations and teachings, I learnt some new things about these issues myself.
Was was tall and liked to stand when teaching. The children had to turn their heads upwards to watch him. They jokingly asked him to sit down or they'd need to see a chiropractor to fix their sore necks.
He gave clear descriptions on the extremely sensitive subject of 'women and their bodies'. Everybody listened and absorbed the information. In fact, the class ran overtime, as the children fired question after question. These are children who would normally fill their weekends watching TV, but so fascinated by him, that they totally forgot their favourite shows.
We really appreciate him traveling long distances....waking up early and getting home late, just to ensure he spends enough time to get his messages across. He also spends a lot of long hours with the children of OBV, who consider his as family.
We always feel assured with him around. While medical doctors check up and ensure their general health is good, Professor Toan will join Professor Duy on bi-weekly and monthly chats, covering different topics, ranging for social awareness (facebook, social media, chat), to health and body topics. The talks are usually paired up with appropriate games to maximise learning.
Additionally, workshops for adults are organized yearly, to improve knowledge and open their minds to new techniques and methods in helping and raising their children.
Our professors are invaluable in helping us reach our children and the community as a whole.
