Watched Elly Khanh playing with the homeless kids on the street as if they have been best friends for a long time. Even though Elly just returned to her homeland to celebrate the traditional lunar New Year for the first time in her life.

If someone who met Kelly for the first time, nobody would thought that Kelly grew up in Canada since birth and this is her first trip to Vietnam, her homeland.

One of the goal of the Happiness Connection Center is to find the best educational environment for the children in our OBV house. Therefore, our ultimate goal of finding the right school that most approriate for our students is a top priority. As a result, our Mai Hoa school is best fit for that purpose.

"Lottery here, anyone please?”

A very old article...

Another trip…

Passing the Tham Luong bridge we traveled on an asphalted road of about 15km with roadside landscapes having changed dramatically. By then, we were already lost in the middle of countryside whose acres of betel gardens - once a poetic muse, have now been replaced with the sight of cattle and horses only.

The drizzly rain was enough to have us wet, trembling and trying to snuggle up in each other for some warmth. We stopped over a dilapidated house nestled remotely on a village road.

In 2010, people of Hoc Mon district were outraged by a dreadful crime of the rape of T who was born in 2000. N, the rapist, was caught in his act. T disclosed that she usually passed by N’s home on her route to sell lottery. When he spotted her, he would buy a lottery result paper from her and ask her inside to commit his pedophilic acts. He would give her 5,000 dong, sometimes 10,000 dong as a pay. According to T, N had done this more than a dozen times to her.

A heartbreaking story, yet it needs to be asked: “Why a child?” Absolutely ridiculous!
