Only 2 children in the OBV house are Catholics; the rest follow different religions, but they all enjoy going to Mass on Sundays. Management arranged for the group to sing as a choir, which made the audience enjoy Mass even more.

After Mass, the OBV children were very excited to receive gifts from volunteers, including clothes from the US.

OBV's New Office

An old article...

Father Joseph giving a short speech.

On June 2011, OBV and the Bridge to Happiness Center opened a new office in Nguyen Van Dau, 11th ward, District Binh Thanh in Ho Chi Minh City. Attendees of the opening ceremony included OBV and Bridge to Happiness Center members and 50 guests and collaborators.

At 6pm, the blessing ceremony was performed by Father Joseph Xua of My Chanh and Vinh Long. Everyone joined in prayer for the new office to become a place of love. Through the works of everyone in the office, that love will spread to everyone around, particularly those who are helped by OBV and the Bridge to Happiness Center, and those continue to live in unfortunate realities and unhappiness.

It was a beautiful Sunday morning, a day where after a long week of work, we'd like nothing more than to relax with our friends and family, head off to the movies, and organize dinners and social events. Of course, for the One Body Village Vietnam family (Nhip Cau Hanh Phuc), we had other plans: To travel to the Thai Thien Parish in Dong Nai province, and give a seminar on basic sexual education, and prevention of child sex abuse.

Leaving at 5.30 in the morning from district 1, our group of 5 arrived at the Thai Thien Parish at 8.15am. Father Bao and the Youth Group leaders, Sunday School teachers had worked hard in the month leading up to this event to ensure a good turn out. The kids were divided into two age groups: the 6-12 year olds, and the 13-18 year olds.

The Bridge to Happiness Center (OBV VN) initial media tour plan didn't include Truong Gia Mo Middle School. It was added at the last minute (89 minutes before departure) based on a sudden request from the head of the Bridge to Happiness Center. Many of the teens here have been lured into the world of drugs and prostitution, which eventually lead to dropping out of school. For that reason, the Board asked us to come speak with them.

So Quynh Ngoc (OBV Manager), The Khanh (Project Manager), Dr. Duy An (President), Nguyen Van Binh (Director) speaking with the audience.

The group left at 6:30AM from Can Tho, and after over 3 hours of travel, we finally arrived at the destination. Surprisingly, even after we arrived nearly 30 minutes late, the teachers and students were there waiting to greet us. A TV reporter from the local Chau Doc news was also there. Our apologies were reciprocated with a warm applause from the audience.

With intense emotion, the OBV VN staff and supporters attended a fundraising event, "The Journey of Thien Nhan," held at the Army Theater on the evening of June 23, 2012.

The horrific tragedy Thien Nhan suffered shortly after his birth generated approximately 3,300,000 results on a simple search on Google. Five years ago, Thien Nhan was abandoned in the jungle by his mother before being found after 72 hours. The newborn was mauled by wild animals, he lost one leg, and his genitals were badly savaged. Just when everything seemed hopeless for Nhan, fate smiled upon him: he was adopted by the journalist Mai Anh. In an effort to make the boy whole again, Anh had taken Nhan to numerous medical facilities. They finally found Dr. Roberto De Castro, one of the world's renowned doctors in the field of reconstructive surgeries, who agreed to reconstruct Nhan's sex organ.

On April 24, 2011, One Body Village was invited to meet with the Vinh Long Diocese Youth on the Easter celebration.

We started our westward journey at 5:30 AM. We arrived at 10 AM, just on time for the exciting contests between the different parishes on the subjects of Catholic Catechism and Liturgy. The Vinh Long youth showed its savvy and complete knowledge of the Catholic Church.

In this trip, OBV had the participation of psychologists and medical doctors. The Vinh Long Diocese youth had the chance to consult with these professional about their psychological and their medical problems.

Tình Cha Mẹ 1

Over the weekend of 20-22 May, 2016, the One Body Village family, under the coordination of Father Martino, put on a series of successful concerts titled Parental Love in San Jose, San Diego, and Orange County in Californnia, USA.

Parental Love is the third benefit concert held by One Body Village and Thuy Nga productions, with the circulation of the recorded DVDs travelling far and wide to spread the word and purpose of One Body Village's goals and objectives. We can say "Parental Love" is a reflection of all our children at One Body Village. A reminder of all the horrendous incidents occuring to them so early in life, the despair and desperation....before being welcomed into One Body Village, and given a shoulder to lean on, and to be parented with the old Vietnamese saying 'a father's love, a mother's care'  within our One Body Village family.

The entire program, with both the musicals and skits, was presented in a way that was like a story of a family surviving through hardships, smiles, tears...and leaving every audience member reflecting on their role in their family

- Father: a shoulder to lean on, with endless love to give through his lifetime

- Mother: forever, always giving and never asking for anything in return

- Child: the heart of his/her parents..
