All of us were taken to a classroom in which tables and chairs were arranged around in circle. Everyone quickly did his own job and put out the things that were prepared for the lesson. Specialist Pham Sy and Pham Thi Thuy quickly discussed with each other about the plans that were supposed to do and some important things they needed to remember before talking to the audience.
Ms. Pham Thi Thuy and Mr. Pham Sy talked to farmers before the training.
It was 8:00 A.M. Why was no one here? Mr. Hoa, who was the representative of Coalition of Norway – the sponsor of our program, was very worried. After trying to contact them, we got to know that some of them were busy with their work on the farm while others were waiting for us at the wrong site. After one hour calling and helping the farmer gather, we then began our first day of the training course with 17 learners.
Specialist Pham Sy and Pham Thi Thuy quickly helped the farmers feel comfortable to be with them. The lesson started with a friendly atmosphere. All the learners received paper and pen and wrote down the opinions in very good manner, not just sitting there to listen to our speakers.
Female learners joined happily and were discussing about how a good father was.
The speakers and the audience shared their thoughts about lots of topics: how to educate our kids in modern time, what the duties of parents in their kids’ growth are, children’s psychology and educational strategies. Those topics were discussed in the morning of the first day by being run in an active way and exciting atmosphere.
Two learners were acting as require of their lesson.
The morning lesson passed very fast. We didn’t forget to remind them of the starting time of our lesson in the afternoon. That reminder seemed to be very helpful. Everyone gathered at the classroom on time at 1:30 P.M. and there were even more learners than in the morning. There were 31 learners. That number of people was a good answer for our questions. At the end of the morning class, we had shortly interviewed some learners with these questions: Do you like the content and techniques used in this training? Is it helpful for you?
By keeping going to the class and calling for more people to join us, these learners had proved clearly that our training course had become helpful to them.
Warm atmosphere with 17 learners of the morning class.
In the afternoon when the number of learners had been doubled, the class’ atmosphere also became more exciting. Everyone became more active, asked more questions and let their concern be seen clearly. They carefully listened to the speakers and discussed happily. Some time they were too excited in a particular topic to realize that the speaker had started to talk about another one. This was because they got a great understanding about what the speakers were talking about and because these topics were related to their daily life.
Exciting atmosphere of the afternoon class with 31 learners.
They discussed together with high spirit.
…And shared with other groups.
Tomorrow will be the second day of the training course. Our speakers will talk about skills of self-protection. The most important skill is self-protection from being abused. This is a serious problem and Bridge to Happiness Center has concerned about. That is because being abused will cause serious problems on kids’ psychology and growth. Parents must be the first ones to take care of their kids, help them prevent from and get out of risks of being abused.
They listened very carefully.
