About One Body Village Canada

One Body Village (OBV) Canada was inspired by OBV USA since 2013 and registered as a non-profit organization in 2016. On April 1, 2017, the Canada Revenue Agency granted OBV Canada charitable recognition.

The Board of Directors of OBV Canada consists of five members: Angela Nguyen, Aaron Sun, Adam Bloomer, Corinne Chong and Ena Lee.

Board of Directors

Angela Nguyen (President & Chair)

Angela lives in Toronto, Ontario and is a Registered Nurse in Emergency and Public Health/ Travel Medicine. She was inspired and motivated by Father Martino OBV USA after her first mission trip in 2013.

After 3 years of being a dedicated volunteer for OBV USA by raising money, awareness, and joining every annual mission trip, Angela founded OBV Canada in 2016 to bring attention to child sexual exploitation in Southeast Asia to the Canadian audience.

With the loving support of her partner and flexibility of her nursing career, Angela wholeheartedly commits her time and skills to OBV Canada and the Global Team!

Aaron Sun (Founding Director)

As one of the founding members, Aaron works closely alongside Angela as the CFO and Treasurer of OBV Canada. In addition to all financial matters, Aaron lends his experience as a former management consultant and currently as a commercial real estate financing specialist to the board on strategic matters.

Adam Bloomer (Founding Director)

Adam is responsible for the planning, setting of objectives, execution, and governance OBV Canada’s Strategic Plan. He has seven volunteer years of fundraising and leadership experience in not-for-profit organizations focused on economic and at-risk youth development in addition to his seven years of commercial development experience in Canada’s energy sector.

Corinne Chong (Director)

Born and raised in Calgary, AB, Corinne is a Marketing & Communications professional aspiring to do more good. She joined the Board in 2017 after having been part of the volunteer trip that took her to meet the rescued girls under OBV’s care. Having seen the life changing impact OBV brings to the lives of the girls first hand, Corinne is proud to help increase awareness and support this organization in its fight against child sexual exploitation.

Ena Lee (Director)

Ena’s heart has always been drawn to the helping profession, so after obtaining her BA in Psychology from the University of Calgary, she set off to Cambodia to learn about the plight of sex trafficking there. Her trip to Cambodia ignited a passion in her to help those who have been affected by sex trafficking, and it was at this time that she learned about OBV through Angela’s social media. Desiring to be more involved in the fight against sex trafficking, Ena joined OBV's Canada 2017 volunteer trip, which reconfirmed her passion. After witnessing the incredible work that OBV does, she proudly became a board member of the organization, and is committed to helping OBV continue the amazing work that they do.

Ena is a graduate of Tyndale Seminary, with a Masters Degree in Clinical Counselling. She is currently working towards registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario, and is looking forward to obtaining her certification as a clinical traumatologist.
